Welcome to my home at Kragerup Manor situated in lovely sourroundings, just 1 hour from Copenhagen in Western Zealand and and 20 minutes from the bridge to Fynun – hometown of the famous writer of fairy tales, Hans Christian Andersen.
The history of Kragerup Manor dates back to 1327 and has changed face through the years. The oldest part of the mainhouse, which is 1800 m2, is the vaulted cellar, which dates back to 1610 to the owner at the time, Christian Friis, who was the chancellor of King Christian the 4 th. The middle of the house is from 1801 and the left- and right wing is from 1838 and 1840. The mainhouse is situated on an island with a mote around it.
The world´s famous writer, Karen Blixen, born Christenze Dinesen, used to visit her family at Kragerup when she was young. You can visit her own family home at Rungstedlund, now a museum in Rungsted, north of Copenhagen.
I am the 8th generation of the Dinesen family on Kragerup and with both an agricultural as well as an economical education, it has, since 1998, been a challenge to bring back new life into the old house.
Kragerup manor consists of 1200 ha, 1000 ha of farmland and 200 ha of forest.
Do you wish a small holiday or just a night in our lovely surroundings, you are welcome to enjoy a stroll in the park, canoeing on the mote, a dive in our swimming pool and maybe a walk in the forest. During your stay, you will be treated with splendid food from our manor kitchen. You will enjoy meat from our highland cattle, deer, pheasants and ducks prepared with vegetables in season
At Kragerup manor, we also welcome you to arrange your next conference or party. Every arrangement is tailor-made just after your wishes. We have 57 double rooms and lovely party rooms in all sizes up to 350 people.
