Axel Wilhelm Dinesen

<p style="font-weight: 400">Axel Wilhelm Dinesen (1865-1932) was born in Copenhagen on October 15, 1865. His father was Johan Ulrik Peter Vilhelm Dinesen and his mother was Alvilde Dinesen. He was first trained as an officer and later as a farmer. Axel took over Gl. Wiffertsholm Estate in 1890 and Skjørringe Estate in 1904 after his stepfather Jens Kraft Jacob Sophus Dinesen (1830-1910), who had bought them for him. He took over Kragerup Gods in 1914 after the death of his brother Jens Kraft Dinesen (1864-1914). Axel rebuilt Gl. Wiffertsholm’s old main building, restored Skjørringe’s main building, Ørslev Church and built a new and modern cowshed at Skjørringe. He also improved the estates’ farm buildings, copyhold farms, official housing and planted forests on both Gl. Wiffertsholm and Kragerup Gods. </p> <p style="font-weight: 400">Axel married Ida van Deurs (1868-1964) in 1894 and had two children: Jøren Eigil Wiffert Dinesen and Mogens Vilhelm Dinesen, of whom Jørgen took over Kragerup Gods as the eldest.</p> <p style="font-weight: 400">Axel died on April 25, 1932 at Skjørringe Estate.</p>
