Restaurant Blixen at Kragerup Manor
Classic dishes with French traditions
In the atmospheric main wing of the estate you will find Restaurant Blixen. The old estate kitchen in the basement with preserved wood-burning stove and copper pots has been the heart of the estate for hundreds of years, and today offers top-class food in charming surroundings.
The restaurant’s chef serves Danish food made with the best seasonal ingredients – often from local producers or the estate’s own garden. He is also inspired by French cuisine, so you can expect French techniques and flavors in the dishes. Freshness, high quality and short distance from farm to table are the signature of the restaurant, and we make sure to get as much flavor out of individual ingredients as possible.
Enjoy Restaurant Blixen’s seasonally inspired 5-course menu.

Gourmet stay in exclusive surroundings
Kragerup Manor’s history dates back to the early Middle Ages, when Kragerup was a manor owned by knight Mathæus Jacobsen Taa. Today, the estate is a sought-after destination for couples, families and conference guests looking for a unique setting for their weekend getaway, wedding or team building days. The estate’s Restaurant Blixen is named after Karen Blixen (née Karen Christenze Dinesen), whose family has owned the estate since the early 1800s, and the estate remains in the Dinesen family today.
Restaurant Blixen offers exquisite meals where you will be spoiled with food in a class of its own and where the ingredients have had a short journey from farm to table. We have our own farm and work closely with local and selected producers. A gourmet stay at Kragerup Manor is therefore your opportunity to enjoy a unique gastronomic experience in a historic and exclusive setting that guarantees you an experience you will never forget.
A gourmet stay at Kragerup Estate is designed by professionals with a tireless passion for good food and equally good wine, which you are guaranteed to taste on a gourmet stay. Below you can read more about what your gourmet stay includes.
Accommodation in a superior room
Your gourmet stay includes an overnight stay in one of our superior rooms in the estate’s farm buildings. Each room is different from each other and decorated with attention to detail and the historic atmosphere of the estate. The rooms have comfortable double beds, bathrooms (some with bathtubs) and are extremely spacious.
Food experiences out of the ordinary
You’ll enjoy coffee and cake in our garden room upon arrival and a delicious aperitif. The gourmet stay comes into its own at tonight’s 5-course dinner, where you will taste how a combination of seasonal ingredients, fresh home-grown herbs and vegetables and high-quality meat create an exquisite symphony on your plate. We love to look for inspiration in the estate’s archives, which is why our chefs have recreated and modernized several dishes from Sophie Dinesen’s old cookbook from 1829.
Your 5-course dinner is accompanied by an exquisite wine menu designed to enhance the taste experience, and you will end the evening in one of our beautiful superior rooms. The next day, a delicious and refreshing breakfast awaits you.
