Karen Blixen has a very special connection to Kragerup Gods as her grandfather, Adolph Vilhelm Dinesen, was born here. As a child and young man, Karen often visited her family on the estate, and her fascination with both food and wine is clearly reflected in her writing. In Restaurant Blixen, we take her at her word when she writes that“a good meal can make us better people“.
On this anniversary evening, you can look forward to a very special experience where the story of Karen Blixen meets high-level gastronomy. Jens Jørgensen, one of Denmark’s leading Karen Blixen experts, will talk about her life. Combined with a menu inspired by the season’s best ingredients, we create an evening that celebrates both Karen Blixen and Restaurant Blixen’s dedication to the art of food – in its 10th year.
4-course anniversary menu
Oysters became a favorite in Karen Blixen’s last year, so tonight we treat you to Gillardeau oysters with smoked oil, fresh dill and pickled cucumber – a fresh and elegant start.
In addition, we serve an exquisite 4-course dinner consisting of
North Sea cod with creamy blue mussel emulsion, crispy radishes and trout roe – delicate nuances from the sea.
Fried turbot with celeriac terrine en croûte, truffle, parsley and a creamy Comté sauce – rich and aromatic.
Tender flap meat with ramson roasted romaine lettuce, airy smoked cheese siphon, roasted small potatoes with browned butter and a deep Bordelaise sauce.
Yogurt parfait with fresh rhubarb sorbet, salted caramel, crispy yogurt crumble and light rhubarb consommé – a fresh and sweet finish.
