Meet Poul Christiansen , who tells the story of the manor
Poul is a hunting camp at Kragerup Gods and is also a huge history buff and a fantastic communicator. For the first time ever, Poul has written down the story of the Kragerup Manor and its owners and published the two-volume work ‘Kragerup – an estate with history’. The book and his stories follow the farm and its changing owners from a simple farmhouse to a manor house to the estate we know today. It’s a story about the power of kings and their actions or lack thereof, the heyday of the Danish nobility and its decline, about the unfair conditions of the tenant farmer and how and why society has changed into the Denmark we know today. It is clear that Poul Christiansen has experience as a writer, historian and storyteller. He has understood how to write history in a factual and fine way. He has many funny side stories and knows how to tell them at the right time and place, while the big story is told with love for the estate and respect for history.
